The violin is in sound playing condition. We learned Mr. Seymour used pre-carved european necks, which explains why verifying and authenticating his work was a head scratcher until we learned this.
It appears the bass bar may have been replaced during the repair. The Nut to bridge length is 2mm shorter than typical. This can be remedied with the removal and movement of the findgerboard/nut. For now, we adjusted the bridge slightly lower than normal position. We just decided not to modify further and kept it as original to us, for any collector or serious violinist. At this level, you'll likely want to make any modifications to your exacting specifications.
There appears to be a blimish on the lower bass side rib bout. It appaears to be black in coloring, however no crack is evident from the inside. Perhaps it was an imperfection and wanted to note and be overly cautious with explinations.
